ESPY Awards

The ESPY Awards (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) are held annually at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to recognize exceptional athletes, teams, performances, and accomplishments from throughout the year in sports. The ESPY Awards have been given out each year since 1993, this years awards will be the 26th annual show. The ESPYs are held by a popular sports or entertainment figure each year, and Peyton Manning performed the role of host for the 2017 ESPY Awards. Other past hosts have included Drake, Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena, and LeBron James.

A portion of the sale of each ESPY Awards ticket goes to charity in support of the V Foundation to promote cancer research. The event coincides each year with the only calendar day that no major American professional sports leagues or college sports teams have games scheduled.
