The global events calendar behind concierge demand, and when it peaks

112 recurring fixtures across 55 markets. These are the dates that decide when a request is easy and when it is impossible, not because of price, but because the city is full.

How to read this

Every entry carries two layers. The season is the recurring answer and it is stable: awards season runs January to March whatever the year. The confirmed date is the perishable one, and where an organiser has not published it, only the season appears. That is deliberate: a calendar that quietly ages into a list of past events is worse than one that admits what it does not yet know.

The lead time on each row is what actually matters for planning. It is not how long the event lasts but how far ahead a request around it has to be placed, and it varies from 2 weeks to 40 across this list. March carries 15 fixtures, more than any other month, while November carries 4.

What the year looks like taken as a whole

Read across every market at once, the year is front-loaded in a way no single city page can show. Counting each fixture in the month its season opens, 39 of the 112 fall in January to March and only 19 in the quietest quarter. A provider working several markets is not buying an even year: it is buying one stretch where almost everything competes for the same staff, and another where the same arrangement sits largely unused.

What the list does not have is a dominant category. The 112 fixtures carry 36 different type labels, the largest of them sport at 15, and the top three together account for 37. Coverage claims are worth testing against that: a firm can be genuinely strong in sport and have worked none of the 97 dates that are something else.

Lead time separates the list more sharply than season does. 68 of the 112 fixtures want twelve weeks or more of notice at the top of their stated range, and 24 want twenty or more, topped by International Chopin Piano Competition at 26-40 weeks, Monaco Grand Prix at 20-30 weeks and Sydney New Year's Eve at 20-30 weeks. Those are the dates that decide whether an arrangement has to be standing, because a request made inside the notice window cannot be rescued by paying more.

Breadth moves with the season too. March has fixtures in 14 of the 55 markets tracked here, against 4 in November, and it is the wide months that break the usual answer to a capacity problem: borrowing someone from a neighbouring city only works while the neighbour is quiet.

The opposite shape is just as common.

21 of the 55 markets carry exactly one fixture, so for those the whole planning question is a single window and a year-round retainer is paying for eleven months of nothing. A further 5 fixtures move from year to year, so a count-back there has to start from an announced date and not from a month. The city pages carry that case individually.

Frequently asked questions

Why does this calendar matter for hiring a concierge?

Because it is the only variable that changes by city. Fees are set per firm and per tier and do not move between markets; how far ahead a request has to be placed does, and these fixtures are why.

Which month is hardest across all markets?

March, with 15 of the 112 fixtures tracked here. That is a global figure rather than a local one, and an individual market may well peak elsewhere in the year.

Why do some entries have no date?

Either the organiser has not confirmed one, or the fixture genuinely moves: with a lunar calendar, with Easter, or with a bloom. Those are listed under Moveable, and planning against last year's date is the error they cause.

How current are these dates?

Each confirmed date carries the source it came from and the date that source was read. Where two sources disagree, both are kept rather than reconciled into a single figure.

Is this every event that matters?

No. It covers the recurring fixtures that measurably change local availability in the markets tracked here. One-off events and anything below that threshold are deliberately left out.
